What is Floatation?
Floatation, also known as Floating, is where you effortlessly float in a specially designed cabin of Epsom Salt and 25cms of body temperature water.
Your brain uses a lot of its power to deal with the huge strain that gravity places on the body, in fact 80% of our energy is spent fighting it’s effects. In our floatation cabins, your body is totally supported, you feel weightless while experiencing zero gravity. With little else for your mind and body to do, every fibre of your being can fully relax. With no commands needing to be sent out, activity in the logical side of the brain (left side) slows down until it synchronises with the creative side (right side). This leaves you in a dream-like state, similar to that experienced just before you go to sleep. In this state, your brain releases vast amounts of endorphin’s, a ‘feel good’ chemical and the bodies natural pain killer.Whilst the state of relaxation may be deep and profound, your brain will stay dreamily alert. To get technical, the brain gradually shifts from its natural occurring state to generate theta brain waves; the brain’s natural gateway to sleep. This is also the state of mind that Buddhist monks aspire to reach through hours of meditation and years of training. You could achieve this within 1 hour using floatation!
